Why do dealerships or private sellers advertise there cars as having a manual transmission when they obviously do not!? I don't care if you have a manual mode on your automatic vehicle. THAT IS NOT A MANUAL! What are people thinking?

It doesn't matter if I am looking at auto trader, craigslist, or dealer sites, people still make this mistake and it is quite annoying.

Sorry for the rant.

I'm actually surprised they would do that. I imagine there are more possible buyers who can't drive manual, and saying so would turn them away.

Cannot choose gears without driver input = Manual
Can choose gears without driver input = Auto

The first pedant to say, "But gas, steering and brakes count as driver input lol" will be eaten by wolves, who will then be eaten by lions, who will then be eaten by sharks.

It is very surprising to me as well. Many people can't drive stick and would instantly see manual transmission and be scared away. Why make car enthusiasts angry and alienate a client base in one swoop?

True some of the time. "If I pretend its a manual maybe they'll look at another car!" I was pretty upset when I drove for a not actually manual lemon yellow 944.

R.I.P. CAcoalminer 2014. He was a good man, faithful to the Jalop cause, but when wolves, followed by lions, followed by sharks (...somehow) descended upon him, it was clear that he was not long for this world.

P.S. I'm sorry $kay, but the wolves/lions/sharks got to the GTs as well. There were no recognizable remains.

most of the good cars only come in manual anyway: Viper, corvette z06/zr1, s2000, mustang Laguna seca, ford GT, ect.

Personally, all exotic sports cars should come with a manual. Yes, I understand the automatics can shift 0.38491059317 seconds faster, but that is not the point!
